The School Day

The gates are open for children to arrive at school between 8.30am and 8.40am. 

Reception children should use the gate in the church car park and then use the gate next to the main office to access the foundation stage playground.

Keys Stage One children (Year 1/2) children enter school via the out of school club gate.

Key Stage Two children (Year 3/4 and 5/6) enter school through gate on Mount Pleasant Road into the main playground.

If any children arrive late for school after the gates have been locked, they should come to the school office where they must report to the office staff before entering the school to ensure that they receive a registration mark and lunch choice, if needed.  

The school day ends at 3.10pm and parents / carers should collect children from the same place that they dropped their children off, between 3.10pm and 3.20pm.

Both Key Stages 1 & 2 have a 15 minute break in the morning and 45 minutes for lunch. Key Stage 1 also have an afternoon break of 10 minutes. The time of this break is flexible to fit with the teaching in the afternoon. 

The break times are: 

Key Stage 1: 9.50am - 10.05 am 
Lower Key Stage 2 (year 3 & 4) : 10.10 - 10.25am
Upper Key Stage 2 (year 5 & 6): 10.30- 10.45 am  

The lunch times are: 

Nursery / Reception 11.30am - 12.15
Key stage 1: - 12.00 - 12.45pm 

Lower key stage 2 : - 12.30-13.15pm 
Upper Key stage 2 : - 12.00- 12.45pm 

Time spent on teaching and learning each day is 5 hours for Key Stage 1 and 5 hours 10 minutes for Key Stage 2.
