St Patrick's Class
Welcome to an insight into St Patrick's class, where we begin our fabulous journey of discovery!
In Nursery, our main class teacher is Miss Bedford.
In Reception, our main class teachers are Mrs Andrews, Miss Taylor and Miss Aziz.
In Reception, our teaching assistants are Mrs Linthead and Mrs Khanda.
One of our latest experiences in reception involved the Leeds Library Service bringing their library bus to visit us. A wonderful experience for the children to begin their journey in 'Love for Reading'.
GROWING:
For our growing topic, we went on another local walk trip to B&M Bargains to buy some garden resources for our role play areas. Whilst walking, we looked at the different types of shops and the children all chose an item to buy and some even handed the money over to the shop assistant. The children were so well behaved and were so excited to go for a wander through Pudsey centre.
SCIENCE:
The children explored floating and sinking. They made a prediction about what they thought each object would do in the water and then recorded it down onto their sheet. They then had to find another object in our classroom that they thought would float. Some fantastic scientists in the making here.
SEA TOPIC:
For our under the sea topic, we looked at pirates. The children learnt about what they wore, ate and created their own pirate ships out of junk modelling. We also went on a pirate trail around our school to find some treasure. The children followed a map and had to do different tasks along the way.
EASTER CARDS AND FIELDWORK:
The children created their own Easter cards and then went on a local walk trip to post them. One group were lucky enough to meet the post lady emptying the post box. They also recorded on sheet all of the human and physical features that they could see on their walk such as benches, bins, bushes and flowers. They used viewfinders to point out the different features as well. They were amazing walking around Pudsey and loved posting their cards.

In Nursery, we might only be little but we were fascinated by the Leeds Library Service and their library on wheels!
As part of 'Health and Well-Being Week', we created our own fruit kebabs. YUMMY!
