St Joseph’s Primary School - Vision for P.E and sport
At St Joseph’s Primary School, our vision for P.E and Sport is that every child should have the opportunity to take part in physical activity on a regular basis and become more physically confident and competent. We hope that, through all the sporting opportunities and physical activity we offer, the children will potentially develop a love and passion for sport and continue this into their later lives.
We aim to provide the children 2 fun ,exciting and active P.E lessons every week and to keep the children healthy and active educating them on a healthy, balanced diet and lifestyle.
At St Joseph’s, we strive to give as many children as possible the opportunity to compete in a variety of competitions, during school time or by representing the school at local events. We hope in doing so, the children will develop greater confidence, team work and learn how to win or lose with grace and sportsmanship.

Netball Event:
The mixed netball team were awarded joint winners of the competition held through the Leeds WellSchool partnership at Crawshaw School. Our secret weapon was Adam Jagiello, who used his height to its full potential. Our defense was incredible and only a shortage of time got in the way of us taking home the winners trophy. Well done everyone!
Tag Rugby Event:
The Year 6 Tag Rugby team had a great afternoon down at the Leeds Rhino's training ground in Kirkstall in March. They managed to top their group which means they progress to the finals at Headingley Stadium in July. They all worked hard and showed true team spirit. Good luck for the finals boys!
Boy's Football Event:
Penalty heartache ended the boys hopes of going all the way in the football competition held at Crawshaw School. Great teamwork was on show from St Joseph's but we didn't quite have enough on the night. Unlucky boys and well played!
Girl's Football Event:
The Year 5 & 6 girls had a really exciting (but chilly) night at the competition at Crawshaw High School playing against some other local Pudsey schools. Everyone played their hearts out as we narrowly lost out at the semi final stage. Well done girls!
Skipping Competition Event:
A fantastic effort from the Year 4 children at the skipping competition. The skills demonstrated were fantastic and the amount of progress has been admirable. Keep skipping!
