St Margaret's Class
Welcome to an insight into St Margaret's class, where we cherish every day to learn and love!
Our main class teacher is: Mr Oldfield.
Our teaching assistants are: Mrs Milner and Miss Nicholson.
Class charity
In our class, we’ve chosen to raise awareness and support for Martin House Children's Hospice.
Martin House is a charity that provides hospice care for children for children and young people across West, North and East Yorkshire. It provides family - led care to children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening illnesses either at the hospice and or in the families' own homes.

Everyone is welcome - our class virtue

At the beginning of the year, we were chosen, as a class, to represent the virtue of service.
Service allows us to put others needs before our own, rooted in love and humility and a desire to contribute to the greater good.
We are encouraged to use our gifts, given to us by God to serve others in any way we can.
In St Margaret's, we have shown good examples of service this year so far by helping our friends with maths, working collaboratively in small groups.
Beyond the classroom
In our class, we have enjoyed a wide range of experiences this year so far to help us develop our love of learning.
The highlight to date was our History trip to The Yorkshire Museum to study the Vikings.
We enjoyed a workshop led by the museum staff which focused on looking at Viking artefacts and learning how to play a Viking themed board game.
The gallery provided a fantastic opportunity to fact find a wide range of information such as how the Vikings gave names to the towns and cities they lived in, the runes they used for writing and artifacts found in and around the city of York.

Engaging with our learning

Across the curriculum, our minds are filled with wonderful knowledge especially with the help of our exciting and fun lessons.
Science
We have carried out a series of experiments on separating materials using evaporation, filtration and magnetism.
TT Rock Stars
We have re-launched our TT Rock Stars work this year which involved dressing up as rock stars, creating a TT Rock Stars rap and competing with each other to recall our times tables in the quickest time possible.
