St Bernadette's Class
Welcome to an insight into St Bernadette's class, where we cherish every day to learn and love!
Our main class teacher is: Miss Martin.
Every half term, our learning is shared through our newsletters:

In our class, we’ve chosen to raise awareness and money for RSPCA. This charity is important to us because we love animals! We believe they all deserve to be treated with love and respect. We want to make sure we create the best world possible for animals, therefore, as a class, we decided to do a sponsored run in Autumn to raise money and awareness for RSCPA.
Everyone is welcome
Through our learning, we understand the importance of how everyone is unique and special. We learn to respect and love one another through our inclusive days.
St Bernadette’s love animals and understand how important it is to respect and protect them. We all pushed ourselves to run as much as we could (and had a lot of fun!) during our sponsored run dressed as animals!
Beyond the classroom
In our class, we’ve enjoyed a wide range of experiences this year to help us develop our love of learning.
In Autumn:
- we had so much fun challenging ourselves during our bootcamp session!
- we explored our knowledge of Geography when we went to Leeds city centre to do some fieldwork and have a look at the human features there.
- we went to Armley Mills to learn about the Victorians. We spent the morning in a Victorian classroom being taught by a (very strict Victorian) teacher!
In Spring, we had a fantastic time on residential, in Kingswood. We pushed our limits, showed team work and resilience !
Engaging with our learning
Across the curriculum, our minds are filled with wonderful knowledge especially with the help of our exciting and fun lessons.
In St Bernadette, we LOVE PE !
We’ve had a fabulous visitor (Ian Bland), who came to deliver a very inspiring poetry workshop. At the end, we all wanted to have a go at performing in front of the class!
We enjoy learning about different faiths, especially when taking part in creative tasks such as drama!
In DT, we have been learning about gears and pulleys. Here are some pictures of our great homemade gears!
On World Book Day, we had a lot of fun dressing up as our favourite character and exploring different activities to do with reading.
