St Andrew's Class
Welcome to an insight into St Andrew's class, where we cherish every day to learn and love!
Our main class teacher is: Mr Leggett.
Our teaching assistants are: Mrs Meredith and Miss Khan.
Every half term, our learning is shared through our newsletters:Class charity
In our class, we’ve chosen to raise awareness and money for Save the Children. This charity is important to us because we believe that all children deserve a chance to learn, be safe, be healthy and a chance to succeed.
Come back and check this space for all fund raising activities we are taking part in this week!

Everyone is welcome - class virtue

At the beginning of the year, we were chosen, as a class, to represent the virtue of patience.
We had a discussion about what patience means to us and why it is an important virtue.
We also elected our two school council members to represent or views this year!
Beyond the classroom
In our class, we’ve enjoyed a wide range of experiences this year to help us develop our love of learning.
At the start of the year, we welcomed Adele from the Skipping School in to help to teach us to skip!
In St Andrews, we LOVE skipping! We practise all of the different skills ready for future competitions, including the tricky pretzel!
In February, we will be taking part in a competition with schools across Leeds to test out our skills.
In Music, we are lucky to have Mr Kyle in from the Diocese of Leeds to deliver our music lessons. It has enhanced our learning and made our learning even better!

Engaging with our learning

We LOVE hands on learning! In History, we learnt about the Ancient Egyptians. We carried out our own mummification of an orange to enhance our learning and imagine what it was like for the Egyptians.

Across the curriculum, our minds are filled with wonderful knowledge especially with the help of our exciting and fun lessons.
In Autumn, we had our Times Table Rock Stars launch day! We got to dress up as Rock Stars for the day and take part in times tables activities.
Each week, we take part in a competition against the other classes in our key stage to see who can get the most times table questions correct!

In Science, we enjoy taking part in experiments to enhance our learning. We acted out the different particles in a solid, liquid and a gas.
We looked at the melting point of chocolate by observing it in different temperatures of water.
