St Francis is one of our year 1/2 classes and we are the Autumn born children.

Addition and subtraction calculation methods Common Exception Words Years 1 and 2 RE
As part of our topic on God's Great Plan we have been learning about the story of creation. We have looked at each of the days and thought about which was our favourite day and why. We have learnt about the 7th day being a speacial day as this is a holy day. We visited the prayer garden in school and looked out at God's creation, We thought about what an amazing world it is and said thank you to God.
In English, we have begun to write our stories about Jack and the Beanstalk. We have been trying to think about composing sentences using capital letters and full stops. We have tried to included expanded nouns in our stories and sequencing words to start our sentences.
Year 1 had a really good try to write some of their own sentences with a little help.
In maths this week we have been learning how to read, write and order numbers up to 10. The children have had lots of fun counting, making numbers using resources and painting towers to match a number.
In Year 2
We have been learning how to count in 2's, 5's, 3's and 10's. The children have enjoyed counting in regular number patterns and making up their own number patterns. Such 3, 5, 7, 9 ...
